07/18/2022 - This is a shed foundation build for a client, who opted for a compacted stone base, upon which a 10' x 20' Tuff Shed will be placed. I used 9"x7"x9' Railroad Ties to frame, 6 Tons of Gravel. The gravel is 7" deep, placed inside the gravel are the remaining railroad ties forming the "deadman's reinforcement". Stabilization straps were added to where the front door will receive the most traffic for loading and unloading. 4' re-bar stakes were pounded into each railroad tie, and further into the ground, for maximum reinforcement, along with additional straps for reinforcement at the corners and all RR tie seams. This thing is a BEAST of a foundation! Additional pics to come of the Tuff Shed placed on top.
